Army troops seize arms cache with HPFAs in AgSur
TALACOGON, Agusan del Sur – The members of the 26th Infantry (Ever Onward) Battalion seized three high-powered firearms (HPFAs) with numerous ammunitions while conducting military operations at the hinterlands of Sitio Kimambukadyang, Barangay Binicalan, Agusan del Sur on January 14, 2023.
The unit’s intensified intelligence and military operations with the help of Former Rebels (FRs) resulted in the seizure of an arms cache containing two (2) garand rifles with more than 200 rounds of ammunition and one (1) carbine rifle loaded with four (4) ammunition.
In a statement, Lieutenant Colonel Sandy Majarocon, Commanding Officer of 26IB, thanked the FRs who gave valuable information leading to the seizure of these HPFAs.
He also appreciated the ever-increasing support of the communities and local government units to the Philippine Army. “It is a clear proof of the people’s trust in us to protect them, and for that, we will continue to intensify our initiatives and efforts to secure our people, especially in far-flung communities,” he said.
