DENR turns over SWIS to BLGU in Lanuza
LANUZA, Surigao del Sur -- The Department of Environment Natural Resources (DENR) officially turned over the newly established Small Water Impounding System (SWIS) Project to the Barangay Local Government Unit of Agsam in Lanuza, Surigao del Sur.
Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) - Surigao del Sur (SDS) led by PENR Officer Victor B. Sabornido, and Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Cantilan headed by CENR Officer Gay P. Resullar facilitated the formal turnover ceremony in collaboration with the LGU concerned. A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was also inked during the event.
The activity kicked off with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at the SWIS facility in Sitio Himatagan, Barangay Agsam, in Lanuza town. The Signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) entered into by and between the BLGU Agsam represented by Barangay Captain Annabelle J. Yparraguirre (Donee), Municipal LGU of Lanuza represented by Mayor Marvin T. Azarcon (Donee), and DENR-PENRO SDS chief Victor B. Sabornido (Donor) held at the Lanuza Surf Camp also followed on the same day..
This is one of the projects of the department which is to provide a decent facility for a sustainable water supply under the National Greening Program (NGP) plantations and reforestation projects in the barangay, as well as to supply water to the nearby communities for domestic use.
