TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur -- The Local Government Unit of Tagbina headed by Local Chief Executive Glaiza Jane P. Lanete successfully organized a two-day Festival Management Workshop held at the Municipal Gymnasium in Tagbina, Surigao del Sur on March 13 to 14, 2023.
The activity wanted to establish a name for the LGU festival, anchored on the current administration's dynamic vision.
The activity also gained support from the legislative body, barangay captains, and Municipal Agriculturist and Designate-Municipal Tourism chief Warlito G. Untua to increase the participants' interest to meet the objectives set.
Representatives from different agencies and sectors, along with two tribes: the Manobo and the Mandaya, joined in the formulation of the plan during the workshop.
After several years, Tagbina town came up with a name and put a map of its own identity, the “Kaalimyon Festival”.
The phrase Kaalimyon refers not only to the aroma of the coffee, which is called the municipality "The Land of Aroma," but also to the aroma of people's existence, a profession of resources, and accomplishments.
A consensus that defines the municipality according to its identity, roots, and history reached achieved through the collaborative effort of the stakeholders' and sector representatives' strong convictions, innovative ideas, love of Tagbina, and steadfast faith.
The assistance of the professionals and the resource speakers, who merely came with a drive to promote the love of the festival, aided much for a positive output result in the activity. The dream of togetherness as one municipality is expected to improve its economy within the town. (with a report from LGU-Tagbina/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
