DA-PhilMech turns over P81-billion worth of agri-machinery, equipment to FCAs in SurSur 

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- More than P81-million worth of agri-machinery and equipment successfully turned over by the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Center for Post Harvest Development and Mechanization (DA-PhilMech) to the beneficiaries from two cities and eight municipalities of Surigao del Sur on Thursday, March 30, held at the Surigao del Sur Sports Complex, this city.

The DA-PhilMech Mindanao A-Cluster led the turnover ceremony of the 74 agri-machinery and technologies to the 37 farmer’s cooperatives and associations (FCAs) beneficiaries of the program.

Based on the report, 62 agri-machinery and equipment were allotted for 32 FCAs from the First Congressional District, while 12 agri-machinery and technologies were given to five FCAs from the Second Congressional District.

PhilMech Mindanao A-Facility Management and Field Operations Division Focal Person Engr. Jingle Paloma revealed that FCA beneficiaries received six hand tractors, six floating tiller (boat type), three floating thriller (turtle type), 26 walk-behind transplanter, two riding-type rice planter, two rice reaper, 13 rice combine harvester, one rice combine harvester, eight recirculating dryer 6T, five recirculating dryer 6T, one mobile rice mill, and a single-pass rice mill.

The historic event was graced by First District Congressman Engr. Romeo S. Momo Sr., Governor Alexander T. Pimentel, representative of Senator Cynthia Villar Jerome Jun Fortun DA-PilMech Engr Raymund Andres, DA Caraga Regional Executive Director Ricardo M.
