AgNor mayor inks MOA with SSS to cover JO, contractual employees
BUENAVISTA, Agusan del Norte -- At least 245 job order and contractual workers of the Local Government Unit of Buenavista are now covered by the Social Security System under the KaltaSSS-Collect Program.
The Memorandum of Agreement signed by Mayor Joselito T. Roble on behalf of the Local Government Unit of Buenavista with Social Security System (SSS) Butuan Branch formalized the automatic salary deduction of the monthly contributions of the covered workers classified as self-employed members who are not covered by the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Law.
As SSS members, they are entitled to social security protection arising from contingencies such as disability, sickness, maternity, old age, death, and other contingencies offerered by SSS. They may also avail of the various SSS loan privileges such as Salary, Calamity, and Educational Assistance.
The simple MOA signing ceremony held on Wednesday, March 1 at the Mayor’s Office was done with the mayor, Henry C. Bungabong, executive assistant II, Glenn S. Jaen, municipal information officer, Helen A. Yonson, HRM officer. The parties from SSS were Gemma I. Balansag, corporate executive officer II; Perkins B. Calixtro, branch head II and Anthony Martin T. Fontanilla.
Among those who witnessed the ceremony from SSS Butuan were Jessejev Y. Tenecio , Social Security Officers III; Ronald V. Semine, senior analyst, and Kristine Mae N. Dispo , junior analyst.
In line with this development, Roble issued a memorandum requiring JOs and contractual workers to attend a Symposium regarding the KaltaSSS-Collect Program on March 10, 9:00 a.mm at JP Satorre Gym. Personnel from SSS Butuan Branch will be the resource persons. (LGU Buenavista/PIA Agusan del Norte)
