Wearing their purple shirts, the Caraga MOVE members expressed that they have been advocating and disseminating relevant information about how to protect and respect women’s rights and working along with the RGADC and the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (RIACAT-VAWC) Caraga.
According to Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) Caraga Regional Director Alexander Makinano, chairperson of RGADC, everything is possible when different sectors are working together in doing and creating a safe and conducive living environment across all sectors.
He further emphasized how close family ties helped in preventing the incidence of domestic violence.
“We shall continue to fight discrimination, and all other forms of violence and abuse against women and their children. We should also be able to promote equal opportunities for women and men that both could have better living conditions,” cited Dir. Makinano.
Meanwhile, Dr. Rolyn Daguil, Campus President of Caraga State University (CSU) in Butuan City also thanked the RGADC for getting them involved in the lined-up activities for the National Women’s Month celebration. He also thanked all the participating sectors for their active support to the advocacies of CSU.
He bared that CSU has also initiated various activities which include the Wonder Women Awards, Purple Your Corner, and a lot more.
“The CSU will be joining other activities of our partners in line with this year’s National Women’s Month celebration and will continue to promote the welfare and general well-being of the women and children sectors,” added Daguil. (JPG/PIA-Caraga)
