DTI AgSur highlights “Buy Local, Go Local”
PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Agusan del Sur through Provincial Director Jose T. Baron, together with Cerila Inson, Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist, and Ferdinand Inres, Trade and Industry Development Specialist, shared the ongoing programs of DTI-AgSur, and their strategies in helping the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the province, and the benefits of the “Buy Local, Go Local” Campaign.
"In the province, one municipality has piloted an ordinance which supports the "Buy Local, Go Local" campaign, and that is the Municipality of San Luis, also there are two Executive Orders from the municipalities of Bunawan and Sibagat, and ongoing resolution in the municipality of San Francisco, while the other municipalities in the province continue to promote the said campaign of DTI," bared PD Baron.
PD Baron also shared the DTI Agusan del Sur's upcoming events and activities in the province, in partnership with the different government line agencies and non-government organizations.
"DTI Agusan del sur will continue to help the people for their small businesses together with other agencies in our province. The government have more plans and programs together with the DTI for the improvement of our local entrepreneurs in the province," Baron emphasized.
The DTI Agusan del Sur has also organized the Integrated Producers Association of Prosperidad Agusan del Sur, Inc. (IPAPADSI) in which the group of local producers in the province including the MSMEs. The products of this organization came from the materials produced in the province.
Furthermore, the DTI Agusan del Sur created the "One Town, One Product" (OTOP) which is governed by the IPAPADSI, located at the Negosyo Center of San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.
Baron also shared that their office has been in touch with the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) and constantly providing them technical assistance, while reiterating to the members the implementation and advantage of Republic Act 11524 also known as the Coconut Farmers and Industry Trust Fund (CFITF) Act.
Baron said that these laws aim to improve the production and profit of the Coconut farmers in the Philippines. (JPG/KED/PIA- Agusan del Sur)
