ATI Caraga evaluates Magsasakang Siyentista applicant in Carrascal town

CARRASCAL, Surigao del Sur -- The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) - Caraga
successfully conducted an assessment and on-site evaluation to the Emily
Integrated Farm Incorporation, owned by Emily P. Nimes, with endorsement from
the local government unit of Carrascal, to be one of the Magsasakang Siyentista
(MS), on Wednesday, April 12, 20223 in Carrascal, Surigao del Sur.
The evaluation team is composed of Fil Victor A. Babanto of ATI-Caraga, Rodel Passion of Caraga State University, and personnel of the Northeastern Mindanao University- Cantilan Campus as partner-member agency.
Based on the report, the assessment process conducted by the evaluation team led by Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Caraga to Emily Integrated Farm Incorporation on April 12 in Carrascal town is in line with Techno- Gabay Program (TGP) of the ATI, to develop farmers' engagement and participation in terms of technology transfer, farm practices, and knowledge exchange with co-learning site cooperators.
Accordingly, Emily Nimes, the owner of the Emily Integrated Farm Inc., was endorsed by the local government unit of Carrascal, considering the innovations Nimes has contributed to diversified farming, involvement in Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) programs under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the introduction of the concept of 'a farm to table approach.'
The Magsasakang Siyentista (MS) is an award given to an outstanding farmer who is successful in utilizing both Science and Technology application and the indigenous methodology, complementing to the Farmer's Information Technology Services (FITS) Center.
To qualify for the assessment for the MS, the applicant must obtain a rating of 80% on the following criteria: innovativeness; productivity/profitability; socio-economic impact; and accessibility of the farm to the majority of the farmers in the service area.
