Hinatuan seaweed association receives enhancement support
HINATUAN, Surigao del Sur -- The Hinatuan Seaweed Producers Association (HSWPA), an organization consisting of seaweed growers in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, was chosen for a Seaweed Enhancement Project (SEP) by the Julius Baer Foundation, a private donor under a Spanish non-profit organization, CODESPA.
CODESPA has been assisting the association in strengthening the organization, business development and collaboration with the local government unit of Hinatuan and other agencies. Access to financing and technical assistance is also facilitated by CODESPA.
The LGU of Hinatuan on the other hand, provides assistance on financing and storage facilities. During the Project Orientation Meeting on May 4, 2023, Mayor Shem Galano Garay assured the HSWPA of the LGU's continued support toward full viability and growth of the organization.
