Tandag City ranks 1st in SurSur with fully functional CBDRP

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- As testament to protect the community from drug abuse, the local government unit of  Tandag City ranks No. 4 in Caraga Region and the first in the province of Surigao del Sur to have been certified as the LGU with a fully-functional Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program.

The Tandag City and its partner agencies namely, Department of Education (DepEd)-Tandag City Division, Philippine National Police- Tandag City Police Station, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Technical Education and Skills and Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Health (DOH), TEMA, and narcotics anonymous entities come together in a Ceremonial Signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (CBDRP) on May 31, 2023 at Uptown Hotel, Mabua, Tandag City.

On behalf of Mayor Roxanne Pimentel, City Councilor Albert D. Perez led the MOA signing, with the presence of City Vice Mayor Eleanor D. Momo, City Administrator Atty. Janissa P. Delicona, and CLGOO Olivia P. Bagasbas.

The activity also joined by CSWDO representative, Youth Development Office representative, CENRO Head Edwin A. Ajos, DepEd Tandag City Division Superintendent Dr. Gregoria T. Su, PNP-Tandag City Police Station chief Lt. Col. Vinn C Duran, PDEA-SDS representative Myrian A. Balbada, DTI-SDS representative Fretzie Bacor, DOLE-SDS representative Cyrah P. Viscara, TESDA-SDS Head Romel M. Natad, DOH-Caraga representative Dave A. Lucar, TEMA representative Pastor Jose Curada, and Narcotics Anonymous representative Don Eduardo L. Nafrada.

The CBDRP is a comprehensive initiative manages the programs that support the persons who use drugs (PWUDs) within the community. It involves the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, including local government units, partner agencies, and community members. The CBDRP focuses on providing support, treatment, and rehabilitation services to PWUDs including the promotion of their recovery, and their reintegration back to society.
