AgSur cops intensify campaign against loose firearms, illegal drugs
PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- In a decisive effort to combat the proliferation of loose firearms and illegal drugs, the Talacogon Municipal Police Station (MPS) conducted a successful operation on May 28, 2023 at the Public Bus Terminal in Purok-Bougainvillea, Barangay San Agustin, Talacogon, this province.
Acting on a tip from a concerned citizen regarding violations of curfew hours and public drinking, personnel of Talacogon MPS swiftly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they immediately conducted a body search on a certain Ariel Catakis Perez, leading to the recovery of the following items in his possession and control: a black sling bag containing a replica of a Cal.45 pistol; three heat-sealed plastic sachets containing a crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing approximately one gram, with an estimated street market value of P6,800 and cash amounting to P920 of various denominations.
Other individuals
apprehended during the said operation are the following: Cris Anchangco Roxas,
31 years old, single, a farmer residing in Purok-Sunrise, Buena Gracia,
Talacogon, Agusan del Sur; Arnel Castro Perez, 20 years old, single, a driver
residing in Purok-2, Zamora, Talacogon, Agusan del Sur; and Benny Perez Amado,
25 years old, single, a mechanic helper residing in Purok-2, Zamora, Talacogon,
Agusan del Sur.
The arrested individuals,
along with the confiscated items are currently under the custody of Talacogon
MPS for proper documentation and disposition.
The Agusan del Sur Police
Provincial Office (ADSPPO) encourages all residents to remain vigilant and
report any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking and the possession
of illegal firearms.

Canlapan, provincial director of ADSPPO emphasized that by working together,
all can create a society free from the grip of drugs and the threat of loose
firearms.

work! This shows the effectiveness of the AgSur operatives in fighting crimes
against illegal drugs and loose firearms, their strong commitment and
determination hastened in putting criminals behind bars,” said Canlapan.

objective, improving the crime prevention and solution of the provincial police
