BIDA program to propel in Caraga
BUTUAN CITY -- Eventually, the Caraga Region stakeholders are now ready and eager to take part in the Regional Grand Launching and Rollout of the Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) program on July 1, 2023 in Butuan City, with activities on a full day.
As the lead agency, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Caraga will spearhead the conduct of the BIDA Fun Run on July 1, 2023 which will start at 4:00 a.m. from Butuan City Sports Complex to Agusan del Norte provincial covered court. The BIDA program will then follow at Dottie’s Place Hotel, Butuan City.
According to DILG Caraga assistant regional director Donald Seronay, Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr., will be joining the said event as guest of honor.
Sec. Abalos and Caraga officials will also hand-in the awards to the deserving winners of the competitions on short film and creative painting. Afterwhich, the participating sectors and officials will then sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the Unity Statement.
Moreover, Agusan del Norte Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell Amante, and Police Brigadier General Pablo Labra II, regional director of Philippine National Police (PNP) Caraga will deliver their messages of support for the BIDA program.
Alongside the main event is the conduct of BIDA Serbisyo Caravan inside the Dottie’s Place Hotel of this city.
Meanwhile, all the governors, city mayors, municipal mayors of Agusan del Norte, along with the dignitaries will have a luncheon meeting and will be interviewed by the media personalities at the same venue.
At the same time, the local officials, heads of government agencies, other representatives and visitors will also witness the groundbreaking ceremony of the Central Police Station in Barangay Villakananga, Butuan City.
BIDA program is an intensified and more holistic campaign against illegal drugs to reduce drug demand in the communities, underscoring the PNP, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and other agencies of the government in their continuous and intensified efforts against illegal drugs within the framework of the law, respect for human rights, and operating on the principles of rehabilitation and socioeconomic development.
