Arbor Day in the Philippines has been institutionalized and observed every June
25 throughout the nation by planting trees, ornamental plants and other forms
of relevant activities. The necessity to promote a healthier ecosystem for the
people through the rehabilitation and re-greening of the environment is
campaigned in Proclamation No. 643 which amended Proclamation No. 396, s. 2003,
that enjoined the active participation of all government agencies, including
government-owned and controlled corporations, the private sector, schools,
civil society groups, and the citizenry in tree planting activity.
CENRO Bislig honors the natural environment by conducting series of tree
planting, other environmental activities and raising awareness on climate
change adaptation and mitigation through the conduct of communication and
education campaign entitled, "Sa CENRO Bislig, Ikaw Makasalig". (CIO-Bislig/NGPB/JDD,
