PIA Caraga chief inspires new graduates

By Jennifer P. Gaitano

BUTUAN CITY – Being the keynote speaker during the 6th Graduation Ceremony of the Humanities and Social Sciences of Agusan National High School Senior High of this city, regional director Venus Garcia of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Caraga, encouraged all the graduates to to strive harder as they will take another journey in life after their graduation.

"Graduates, as you embark on your individual paths, take with you the lessons learned, the friendships forged, and the memories cherished. Let the experiences gained throughout your educational journey be the guiding light that propels you toward your goals and aspirations. Be bold, be audacious, and be unafraid to take risks. The resilience you have developed through this educational journey will be your guiding light as you step into the next phase of your life. The world awaits your talents, your ideas, and your passion. Embrace the challenges that lie ahead, for it is through challenges that we grow and learn the most. Remember that setbacks are not failures but opportunities for growth and improvement," Dir. Garcia said.

Being a grateful alumna of the ANHS, Dir. Garcia recalled how she overcame all the struggles and challenges during her high school years and how her teachers molded her to become who she is right now.

"The theme of this graduation ceremony, 'Gradweyt ng K to 12: Hinubog ng matatag na Edukasyon,' encapsulates the essence of our educational experiences and speaks volumes about the incredible journey you have all undertaken. Your years in the K to 12 system have not only equipped you with the academic knowledge but have also instilled in you the values of determination, perseverance, and hard work—these are qualities that are essential for achieving success in any field,” Dir. Garcia bared.

She also urged the HUMSS graduates to be proud of themselves, as they are the future shapers of the nation. “You will soon become the lawyers, historians, economists, writers, or social workers. As you stand at the precipice of your own journey, ready to take on the world, I want to remind you of the incredible potential that lies within each and every one of you. Your time in the HUMSS strand has equipped you with a well-rounded education, nurturing your critical thinking, creativity, and understanding of the human experience," Dir. Garcia kindled.

Dir. Garcia further highlighted that education is not just about acquiring degrees or securing high-paying jobs. This, according to her, is about discovering one’s passion, honing one’s skills, and making a difference in the lives of others. “Education is the key that unlocks doors of opportunity, empowering you to create positive change in your communities and the world at large. Each one of you has unique talents, passions, and aspirations. Use your education as a springboard to pursue your dreams, and to make a difference in the fields you are passionate about. Whether you choose to be educators, artists, advocates, entrepreneurs, or leaders, remember that you have the power to shape the world around you," she said.

"Remember that success is not measured solely by material wealth or professional accomplishments but by the lives you touch, the kindness you spread, and the legacy you leave behind. As you climb the ladder of success, reach out your hand to lift others along with you. Make a conscious effort to create an inclusive society that values diversity, celebrates differences, and provides equal opportunities for all. Congratulations, graduates! The theme "Gradweyt ng K to 12: Hinubog ng matatag na Edukasyon" exemplifies your journey—a journey that has molded you into a resilient, empowered individual ready to conquer the world. Thank you and congratulations to all the graduates, and may your future endeavors be filled with success, fulfillment, and a commitment to making the world a better place for all," underscored Dir. Garcia, as she ended her speech. (JPG/PIA-Caraga)
