Bayabas town qualifies for the national search for MMK
BAYABAS, Surigao del Sur -- As recognition to their contribution and achievement in the field of farming and fishing, four farmers and fisherfolk associations in Bayabas, Surigao del Sur received a cheque amounting to P575,550 as reward to the association- beneficiaries under the Malinis at Masaganang Karagatan (MMK) 2020-2021, implemented by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) Caraga on July 6, 2023 in Bayabas, Surigao del Sur.

Ma. Clarita Limbaro handed over the cheque to the officers and members of the
association-beneficiaries with the following breakdown:
1.Tugop Farmers and Fisherfolks Association (TFAFA) with P163,550;
2. Bayabas Pumpboat Operators Association (BAPOA) with P140,000;
3. Balete Chicken Growers Association (BaCGA) with140,000; and
4. Cabugo Women's United for Progress Organization (CAWUPO) with P132,000.
The punong barangays of Magobawok, Catalino Bandola; Alberto Pacheco of
Cagbaoto; Floriano Luna if Cabuga; and AT-Fishery coordinator, Edelberto Gascon
also witnessed the said significant event.
"The livelihood assistance will empower the farmers and fisherfolk with
the necessary resources and capital to enhance their agricultural and fishery
practices, and improve their livelihood," according to municipal
agriculturist, Geralyn Guibao.
Meanwhile, Guibao added that though the smallest town of the province, Bayabas
has taken a big step as it will undergo assessment as one of the qualifiers for
