Housing project for gov't employees starts in Tandag

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The city government of Tandag led by local chief executive Roxanne T. Pimentel, in partnership with the Home Development Mutual Fund or PAG-IBIG Fund, successfully spearheaded the two significant milestones of a housing project namely, the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the PAG-IBIG Fund and the LGU, and the capsule laying for the establishment of the Green Valley Subdivision on July 7, 2023 in Barangay Rosario, Tandag City.

Pag-IBIG Fund chief executive officer, Marilene C. Acosta and Governor Alexander T. Pimentel attended the event.

The housing project is intended for the city government employees which is estimated to create 490 one-story duplex-type units with eaves.

Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Acosta said that the Green Valley Subdivision housing project which will soon be established in Tandag City is the first countryside housing initiative (CHI) in Surigao del Sur, of which the city government of Tandag provided the land area of 89,514 square meters.

The said project according to Acosta is in support of the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) program of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., which envisions constructing six million housing units over the next six years. (Nida Grace P. Barcena, PIA-Surigao del Sur)
