DSWD-13 turns over upgraded barangay hall to Sta. Fe in Tagbina
TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga, in collaboration with the local government unit (LGU) of Tagbina, successfully turned over the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) sub-project to the Barangay LGU of Sta. Fe in Tagbina, Surigao del Sur, as the recipient of the project.
DSWD Deputy Regional Program Manager Esterlita Villamor; 2nd District Congressman Johnny T. Pimentel, and Governor Alexander Pimentel, both ably represented by John Vincent C. Pimentel; Mayor Glaiza Polizon-Lanete and the members of the Sangguniang Bayan attended the ceremonial turned over of the newly upgraded and improved Barangay Hall on August 17, 2023.
The said facility had a total cost of P503,124 with a physical area of 79.38 sq.m., comprising of two units latrine with complete amenities, five-room partition and each has its own unit of folding bed.
In his speech, John Vincent Pimentel assured that the support of the provincial government of Surigao del Sur will continue especially the infrastructure development and livelihood projects to be implemented in the different barangays of Tagbina.
According to Mayor Galay Polizon-Lanete, the development objective of the KALAHI focused on empowering the targeted barangays to have better and closer access to services and to participate in more inclusive local planning, budgeting, and implementation.
Likewise, Villamor informed the community on the new programs and projects to be implemented in the municipality of Tagbina in the next coming years to be funded by DSWD Caraga.
The KALAHI-CIDSS is one of the poverty alleviation programs of DSWD that uses the community-driven development approach for achieving service delivery, poverty reduction, and good governance. (with a report and photos from LGU-Tagbina/NGPB, PIA-Surigao del Sur)
