The surrenderers were identified as Vicente Tello Moldez alias Reb-reb, team leader of Edukasyon Propaganda, resident of Brgy San Roque, San Miguel Surigao del Sur; John Paul Mandag Salahay alias Lawin, member of Sandatahang Yunit Pampropaganda 21C, Weakened Guerilla Front 21, Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee; Wawie Mandag Salahay alias Sorating, team leader of Sandatahang Yunit Pampropaganda 21A, Weakened Guerilla Front 21, Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee; Caryl Alvarez alias Angel; Erwin Sandag Enriques alias JR; and Angelo Sales alias Sky/Carlo/third member of Regional Sentro de Grabedad Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee.
They surrendered five firearms, which include one AK47 rifle, two AR15 rifles, one M4 Carbine rifle, and one M14 rifle with six (6) live rounds.
I saw how the soldiers took good care of my fellow surrenderers and how they treated those who came from the CTG. We have nothing to fear because they are good soldiers and people. I also call on all the remaining members not to waste their lives and return to the folds of the government)."
Lt. Col. Cresencio C Gargar, commanding officer of 29IB said in a statement, “I am glad that you have decided to lay down your arms and decided to surrender. Now that you are here, rest assured that you will be assisted and guided to properly return to the normal life.”
Gargar also reiterated his call to the remaining members saying, "The time is at its peak to lay down their arms as our door is always open for those who want to start a new life and be with their family now that Christmas is fast approaching."
