Tagbina learners benefit from 600 donated armchairs
TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur -- As support to the education sector, local chief
executive Glaiza Jane Polizon-Lanet of Tagbina, Surigao del Sur, along with her
husband Joshur Judd S. Lanete II extended their contribution to education in
Tagbina disricts I and II through their heartfelt donation of 600 plastic
armchairs valued at P700,000.
According to Glenn Lazaro, private secretary of the local government unit
of Tagbina, the ceremonial distribution took place on Wednesday, September 6,
2023, at Tagbina National High School in Tagbina, Surigao del Sur.
Lazaro said the initiative was entirely financed by the Lanete family. In
return, the Lanete family received gratitude and appreciation from the local
education community.
Tagbina I District chief Jay C. Dalman expressed the profound impact of the act
of kindness on the Lanete family saying, "I am happy that we will be able
to give a more comfortable learning environment to the students. All the
learners from the two districts should be grateful because of the unparalleled
generosity of our municipal mayor."
Dalman added, “These chairs came from their own pocket, not charged to any
government funds, but from their hearts, out of love and support to our
learners."
Merjorie G. Dalagan, principal, on the other hand highlighted the spirit of
giving stating, "Do good for others, and it will come back in unexpected
ways; for that the Lanete family's profound generosity towards DepEd,
exemplified by the provision of these armchairs for our learners."
Mayor Galay Polizon-Lanete, known for her dedication to improving education,
expressed her commitment, "I pledge to extend my time, effort, and
resources in giving our schools the best. So, teachers, I am one of you in
conspiring the dream of every student in action."
The donation of the plastic armchairs is poised to significantly elevate the
learning experience for numerous students in Tagbina districts I and II,
marking a substantial stride towards fostering a conducive and comfortable
educational environment.
"The LCE''s selfless act served as an inspiring example of how individual
generosity and compassion could create a meaningful impact within the communities,"
