Bisliganons benefit from services on family planning
BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur -- The Commission on Population and Development
(CPD) Caraga, in collaboration with DKT Philippines Foundation and the Service
Outreach and Distribution Extension (SODEX) Program, successfully conducted a
family planning service delivery at Bislig District Hospital, Bislig City in
Surigao del Sur, on October 11, 2023.
The event served twelve bilateral tubal ligation (TBL) clients, and a
beneficiary on progestin sub-dermal implant (PSI).
Dr. Elenila I. Jakosalem, chief of Bislig District Hospital, together
with chief nurse Maria Cynthia L. Arones, stepped up in organizing
and facilitating the event, with their expertise and coordination that were
instrumental in ensuring smooth operation of the activity.
The family planning coordinator, Jemima A. Tajo, and municipal health officer,
Dr. Christine Marie D. Gawat, along with the nurses and midwives of the City
Health Office, also contributed significantly to the success of the event.
Their knowledge and skills in family planning services assured the clients
would received the necessary care and support.
The presence of CPO consultant Ciriaca R. Lopezon, and population program
officer Ingrid D. Masancay from the CPD- Caraga, further strengthened the
event, with their guidance and expertise in population development and family
planning programs that played a vital role in delivering high-quality services.
The DKT Philippines Foundation led by Dr. Luis Garcia, brought their valuable
experiences and resources in place, in collaboration with the CPD-Caraga that
ensured efficient service delivery and client satisfaction.
The visit of Alconcita T. Portillano, regional family planning coordinator of
the Department of Health (DOH) Caraga, was also appreciated that underscored
the importance and support of the government in promoting family planning
services.
Overall, the successful execution of the family planning service delivery at
Bislig District Hospital was a result of the dedicated efforts of the
partners, with their commitment to improving access to family planning services
and promoting reproductive health deserves recognition and appreciation. With
continued collaboration and support, the CPD-Caraga, along with partners,
continues to make significant strides in population development and family
