AgSur police records 39 accomplishments within 36 weeks

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- In a more relentless campaign against criminality and insurgency, the local police forces of Agusan del Sur led by Police Colonel Jovito C. Canlapan, provincial director, intensified the implementation of the 36th Weeklong Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation on September 25 – October 1, 2023 that resulted to a total of 39 Operational Accomplishments.

Joint forces of 14 police stations, two provincial mobile force companies (PMFCs) and Agusan del Sur provincial intelligence unit (ADS PIU), yielded two drug personalities apprehended (one buy-bust and one search in lawful arrest); seven individuals arrested in illegal gambling with three successful operations for the said non-index crime; nine surrendered firearms, and one  loose firearm through a search warrant; nine Most Wanted Persons, nine other Wanted Persons were put behind bars and seven successful operations in service of the warrant of arrest.

Further, one operation in illegal logging were successfully conducted with two law offenders for the said non-index crime; two individuals arrested in illegal fishing and one former communist terrorist group (CTG) voluntarily surrendered to the local authorities.

All arrested persons have been placed under police custody while charges against them are being prepared for filing in court.

“I highly commend all the PNP personnel involved in these notable accomplishments. This only shows that the continuous active support of the community to the local authorities will yield to fruitful results. Let us continue performing our mandated task to maintain the peace and order within the province. Keep up the good work,” PCol. Canlapan said.
