Leadership summit inspires youth of AgNor

CABADBARAN CITY, Agusan del Norte - The 29th Infantry "Matatag" Battalion, in partnership with the local government unit of Cabadbaran City, successfully conducted the Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) on October 7-9, 2023 at Gymnasium, Brgy Del Pilar, Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte. This transformative event served to nurture the leadership skills of the youth, and fostered the spirit of resilience, responsibility, and entrepreneurship.

The YLS empowered the young minds by providing them with invaluable tools to become influential leaders in their communities. With a firm commitment to creating a peaceful and prosperous environment, the summit also focused on preventing the recruitment efforts of the communist-NPA-terrorist (CNTs), ensuring that the youth remained focused on positive avenues for personal and community growth.

Governor Maria Angelica Rosedell Amante – Matba of the province of Agusan del Norte said, “Unahon jud nato atong kaugalingon ug hunahunaon natog pag-ayo ayha ta mag desisyon sa atong kinabuhi. Dili nato pakasad.on ang gobyerno sa mga desisyon nga kamo mismo nag buhat ug karon nagbaguod sa consequences sa inyong desisyon. Bisan unsa paman kalisod ang kalibutan karon dili jud nato byaan ang gobyerno ug inyong improbar ang inyong tagsa tagsa kinabuhi (We have take care of ourselves and refrain from making impulsive decisions in our lives. If you say now that you have a hard time, it is because of your wrong decision. We cannot blame the government for the wrong decisions you made; you are now bearing the consequences of this type of decision. No matter how difficult is the world today, we should not abandon our government, and you should improve your life)."

The activity was also witnessed by LTC Cresencio C Gargar, commanding officer of 29IB; Crestin Joy Bermudez-Delos Reyes, representative of Mayor Judy Chin-Amante; and Acrecia D Camarin, punong barangay of Del Pilar of this city.

Brigadier General George L Banzon, commander of 901st Brigade, also witnessed the closing ceremony and gave an inspiring message to the participants, stressing the importance of molding the future leaders, the youth, whom their knowledge, talents and skills are very crucial in making positive difference in the communities where they belong.
