22 job seekers hired on the spot in DOLE-13 job fair
BUTUAN CITY - In a proactive move to address employment needs, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) - Caraga conducted a mini local job fair to kick off the celebration of the Month of Overseas Filipinos (MOF), through a Migrant Fair on October 20, 2023, at Almont Inland Hotel, this city.
The event helped the job seekers to apply for the 461 available positions from 11 local establishments and industries.
A total of 125 job seekers registered to
participate in the mini-job fair, and 76 were qualified and admitted for the
final interview. Among them, 22 were hired on-the-spot or HOTS.
Beyond the job fair, DOLE – Caraga core programs
were also showcased during the Migrant Fair. Jobseekers, guests, and relatives
of the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) were oriented and provided with
information, education and communication (IEC) materials such as, the DOLE
integrated livelihood and emergency employment program (DILEEP), the government
internship program (GIP), the special program for employment of students
(SPES), and the child labor prevention and elimination program (CLPEP). On-site
consultations on general labor standards and occupational safety and health
were also conducted.
The involvement of DOLE - Caraga in the Migrant Fair is part of a broader commitment to promote full, decent, and productive employment for all Filipinos. The migrant fair is a special tribute to overseas Filipinos, overseas Filipino workers and their families, as well as uniting various organizations, both from the national government and the non-government agencies dedicated to providing welfare and services to families of the nation’s modern heroes.
