22 job seekers hired on the spot in DOLE-13 job fair

BUTUAN CITY - In a proactive move to address employment needs, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) - Caraga conducted a mini local job fair to kick off the celebration of the Month of Overseas Filipinos (MOF), through a Migrant Fair on October 20, 2023, at Almont Inland Hotel, this city.

The event helped the job seekers to apply for the 461 available positions from 11 local establishments and industries.

A total of 125 job seekers registered to participate in the mini-job fair, and 76 were qualified and admitted for the final interview. Among them, 22 were hired on-the-spot or HOTS.

Beyond the job fair, DOLE – Caraga core programs were also showcased during the Migrant Fair. Jobseekers, guests, and relatives of the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) were oriented and provided with information, education and communication (IEC) materials such as, the DOLE integrated livelihood and emergency employment program (DILEEP), the government internship program (GIP), the special program for employment of students (SPES), and the child labor prevention and elimination program (CLPEP). On-site consultations on general labor standards and occupational safety and health were also conducted.

The involvement of DOLE - Caraga in the Migrant Fair is part of a broader commitment to promote full, decent, and productive employment for all Filipinos. The migrant fair is a special tribute to overseas Filipinos, overseas Filipino workers and their families, as well as uniting various organizations, both from the national government and the non-government agencies dedicated to providing welfare and services to families of the nation’s modern heroes.
