People's orgs receive P700k worth of livelihood in Nasipit

BUENAVISTA, Agusan del Norte -- The 23rd Infantry (Masigasig) Battalion facilitated the awarding of P700,000 worth of livelihood assistance under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) - Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) to the Tabon Farmers’ Association, in partnership with the DOLE Caraga and the local government unit of Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, in a recent ceremony held at Barangay Aclan, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte.

The association will create and provide employment opportunities to its members, as well as to the indirect beneficiaries, through Tilapia farming that will supply the highest possible quality of Tilapia to the market.

Fernando P. Vicente, punong barangay, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to DOLE Caraga for providing livelihood assistance to the communities that were previously identified as former red barangays. He emphasized the significance of sustaining and maximizing the benefits of the program to improve the income of the beneficiaries and to urge them to take care and utilize the assistance from the government to fulfill its purpose of improving the local communities.

DILP or Kabuhayan Program, is the DOLE’s contribution to the governments’ agenda of inclusive growth through massive job generation and substantial poverty reduction. It seeks to reduce the vulnerability to risks of the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized workers by providing them access to grant assistance for capacity-building on livelihood ventures, either for individual or group undertakings.
