Agusan Norte conducts children’s forum

BUTUAN CITY -- In celebration of the Children’s Month, the provincial government of Agusan del Norte, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, spearheaded the Provincial Children’s Forum in Butuan City on November 17.

Approximately 130 youth from different local government units in the province, including indigenous peoples (IP) children, Muslim children, child in conflict with the law (CICL), and young leaders from various LGUs participated in the activity that focused on promoting their mental and psychological health and well-being.

The discussion revolved around adolescent health and nutrition, led by Dr. NiΓ±o Archie S. Labordo, the regional nutrition program coordinator of the National Nutrition Council - Caraga. The topic entitled, “Self-Care: Mental Health Hygiene” was also tackled by Brian J. Morales of the Provincial Health Office.

It highlighted the presentation of the Local State of the Children Report by SP member Inez Rosario Amante, on behalf of provincial Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante.

The forum served as a platform that provided an avenue for the youth to share their talent and build leadership potential.

This year's Children’s Month bares the theme, “Healthy, Nourished, Sheltered: Ensuring the Rights to Life for All.” (KKD, PLGU-Agusan del Norte/PIA-Agusan del Norte)
