DTI unlocks opportunities for artisans, manufacturers in AgSur
SAN FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Agusan del Sur, in partnership with the Design Center of the Philippines (DCP), conducted the assessment, consultation, and triage on non-food at Mabe’s Savory Place, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur on October 27.
Through the One Town, One Product (OTOP) and Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), this joint venture brought design experts/consultants from DCP Manila to provide assessment, consultation, and triage services for non-food micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs).
Some five local creative artisans and manufacturers of non-food products ranging from arts and crafts and home and fashion were the project beneficiaries.
In an era where design plays a pivotal role in shaping consumer perception, the DCP is extending its expertise to help local businesses thrive and create lasting impact. By collaborating with experienced and innovative designers, local MSMEs can access valuable insights, ideas, and guidance to boost their product and brand designs.
Thus, the commitment of DTI - Agusan del Sur to fostering economic growth in the region went beyond food production initiatives and assistance. The introduction of these services signified the agency’s dedication to supporting local artisans, entrepreneurs, and businesses in non-food sectors by enhancing their design strategies.
Hence, the activity would not be possible without the collaborative efforts of both the personnel of DTI - Agusan del Sur and DCP namely, Rezel May Goloran, trade and industry development analyst; Aljon M. Domat-ol, OTOP technical staff; Aldwin Jason Pontillo, CFIDP technical staff; and Benjamin Sixto B. Molina Jr., DCP senior industrial design specialist; Clark Adrian Mendoza, DCP design specialist and project officer. (DTI-AgSur/PIA-Agusan del Sur)
