Agusan Sur cops hold ceremonial lighting, adjudge Christmas lantern contest

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- In a festive celebration of the holiday season, the Agusan del Sur Provincial Police Office (ADSPPO), led by Police Colonel Jovito Canlapan, conducted the ceremonial lighting and judging of the Christmas lantern contest on November 30, 2023, at 6:00 in the evening at the facade of the provincial headquarters, located in Patin-ay, Prosperidad, this province.

Distinguished guests who served as board of judges include Annie Silabay; Michael John Andohuyan, registered social worker/team leader; and Rev. Ricardo Villaver, MBK provincial coordinator.

Highlights of the event was the ceremonial lighting of Christmas lanterns of all provincial units; Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC); Municipal Police Stations (MPS); National Administrative Support Unit (NASU); and National Operational Support Unit (NOSU), that symbolized the collective participation of the Philippine National Police (PNP) stations in the global observance and celebration of Christmas season.

The announcement of the contest winner will take place during the Paskuhan sa Kampo on December 18, 2023.

"May the warm glow of the Christmas lantern illuminate in our hearts and bring the true spirit of Christmas to every corner of our camp," PCol. Canlapan expressed.

This is in line with the learning and growth perspective of the PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030 under the objective of developing a competent, well-motivated and value-oriented police personnel and organization in relation to the transformation program of the organization. (ADSPPO/PIA-Agusan del Sur)
