LGU-Tagbina turns over multi-purpose building in Barangay Carpenito
TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur -- The local government unit of Tagbina achieved a significant milestone in enhancing community infrastructure with the completion of a multi-purpose building in Barangay Carpenito in Tagbina town, as it was formally turned over and inaugurated on January 10.
The LGU-Tagbina under the leadership of Mayor Glaiza Jane Polizon-LaΓ±ete and
the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the
Kalahi-CIDSS, otherwise known as the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive
and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) - National
Community-Driven Development Program (KC-NCDDP) Additional Financing Phase 1
initiative exemplified a collaborative community development for the
realization of the project.
KALAHI-CIDSS is one of the poverty alleviation programs of the government
implemented by the DSWD.
According to Glenn Be. Lazaro, LGU Tagbina private secretary, the 49 square
meter multi-purpose building, constructed by contract at a total cost of
P967,765, covered essential amenities such as comfort rooms, ceilings, tiles,
plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, and paintings.
The ceremonial ribbon-cutting and inauguration as attended by Mayor Lanete,
Sangguniang Bayan members, Municipal Inter-Agency Committee (MIAC) members,
barangay council, personnel of KALAHI-CIDSS area and municipal coordinating
teams (A/MCT), barangay development council-technical working group (BDC-TWG),
and the dedicated community volunteers of Barangay Carpenito, marked a
ceremonial recognition of the project's completion.
“Furthermore, the collective efforts of the DSWD, LGU, and BLGU did not only
transform the physical landscape but also solidified the community's commitment
