DSWD, LGU-Tagbina turnover P1.3M barangay isolation facility
TAGBINA, Surigao del Sur -- With Tagbina Mayor Glaiza Jane P. Lanete's visionary leadership catalyzed transformation change in Barangay Tagongon through the completion of the P1.3 million project under the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS)National Community-Driven Development Program - Additional Financing (KC-NCDDP AF) Phase 1.
On Friday, January 12, 2024, a significant milestone was achieved in Barangay
Tagongon with the inauguration of the upgraded barangay hall as a temporary
isolation facility.
The collaborative initiative was supported by the Department of Social Welfare
and Development (DSWD) and the local government unit of Tagbina, with a budget
cost of P1,370,842, according to Glenn B. Lazaro, LGU- Tagbina private
secretary II.
The 128-square meter project encompassed two units of rest rooms with a
septic tank, with partitioned rooms with six folding beds equipped with
amenities and medical facilities, Lazaro added.
DSWD Caraga Region SRPMO focal persons, Leizer T. Dumagan, CDO III, and Engr.
Chel Mae M. Caingles, CPO III along with Mayor Lanete attended the ceremonial
ribbon-cutting and inauguration, witnessed by Sangguniang Bayan members, PNP,
barangay council, those volunteers and organizations involved in the project
implementation, and the community beneficiaries of the program.
“Following the turnover and inauguration ceremony, the barangay council, led by
Punong Barangay Roclie Y. Monato, initiated a Barangay Tagongon Volunteers'
Night. The said endeavor expressed gratitude and acknowledgment for the
steadfast support and invaluable contributions of the community volunteers,”
