Murder down by 25%, theft decreased by 80% in Caraga
BUTUAN CITY – Police Brigadier General Kirby John B. Kraft, Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 director announced the decrease in murder incidents by 25 percent and theft incidents by 80 percent in the Caraga region based on comparative data between December 18-24, 2023, and December 25-31, 2023.
The record from the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division showed the significant drop of murder incidents from four on December 18-24, 2023 to three on December 24-31, 2023.
The data disclosed that for theft incidents, from five on December 18-24, 2023, the figure dropped to only one incident on December 25-31, 2023.
“The significant decrease in these two of the eight focused crimes comprising the index crimes, is attributed to the intensified police operations and the strengthened anti-crime drive campaign of Philippine National Police (PNP) - Caraga in coordination with the force multipliers, community, and all stakeholders,” Dir. Kraft said.
Since his assumption to office in July 2023, the region’s top cop has ordered the increase of police presence in the streets, public places, major thoroughfares and other places of convergence through his strategic program thrust dubbed “SAFE Caraga” or the PNP personnel must be Seen, Approachable, Felt, and Efficient in performing duties.
