Police ops net over P119K of illegal drugs, 8 drug personalities in Caraga
BUTUAN CITY – The Philippine National Police (PNP) Caraga’s buy-bust operations and implementation of search warrants led to the confiscation of P119,136 total worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of eight drug personalities in the region on January 12.
Police Brigadier General Kirby John B. Kraft, PNP Caraga director, identified the arrested persons as alias “MJ,” high-value individual (HVI), 27 years old, resident of Barangay Villa Kananga, Butuan City; alias “Dondon,” street level individual (SLI), 42 years old, resident of Barangay Washington, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte; alias “Waway,” SLI, 31 years old, resident of Barangay Cagniog and alias “Allan,” SLI, 30 years old, resident of Barangay San Juan, Surigao City; alias “Renie,” HVI, 43 years old, resident of Barangay 5, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur; alias “Dodoy,” SLI, 26 years old, resident of Barangay Sta. Irene, Bayugan City; alias “Yan-yan," HVI, 33 years old, resident of Barangay Magosilom, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur; and alias “Leonard,” SLI, 39 years old, resident of Barangay Poblacion, Trento, Agusan del Sur.
Based on the record of the Regional Operations Division, alias “MJ” yielded the largest number of confiscated drugs with 5.4 grams worth P36,720.
His arrest was through the implementation of a search warrant conducted by Butuan City Police Station 1, Agusan del Norte Maritime Police, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office 13 in Barangay Villa Kananga, Butuan City at around 6:00 PM.
Arrested persons are now in the custody of arresting police units and will face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. .
