Agusan Sur cops intensify campaign against crimes

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur -- A total of 22 operational accomplishments were attained by the Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (ADSPPO) during the aggressive implementation of the 47th weeklong anti-criminality law enforcement operation (ACLEO) throughout the province covering the period of December 11-17, 2023.

Joint forces of the 14 police stations and two provincial mobile force companies (PMFCs) yielded to four drug personalities apprehended through a buy-bust operation; one successful operation for illegal gambling with three law offenders apprehended; eight surrendered firearms; two other wanted persons were put behind bars; and one successful operation in service of warrant of arrest. 

Further, one operation in illegal logging resulted in the arrest of two individuals while five lawless elements were cited/fined in illegal logging.

Police Colonel Jovito Canlapan, provincial director of ADSPPO, bared that all the arrested persons were placed under police custody while charges against them are being prepared for filing in court.

“I highly commend all the PNP personnel involved in these notable accomplishments. This only showed that the continuous active support of the community to the local authorities would yield fruitful results. Let us continue performing our mandated task to maintain the peace and order within the province. Keep up the good work!” Canlapan said.
