PMO Surigao’s Port Police Division conducts Maritime Security Awareness Training

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte -- The Port Police Division of the Port Management Office of Surigao (PMO-Surigao) wrapped up a two-day Maritime Security Awareness Training (MSAT) program, bolstering the skills and knowledge of its security personnel.

The training was held on January 29-30 at the Gender and Development (GAD) Center of PMO Surigao, the training focused on crucial aspects of maritime security, equipping participants with the tools to tackle evolving challenges.

A total of twenty-six port security personnel from various PMO-Surigao ports took part in the program. Key participants also included security operatives from private firms like Advance Forces Security & Investigation Services Inc. (AFSISI), Commander Security Services Inc., and Global Toledo Alquino Security Agency Corp., fostering valuable collaboration.

Chief Port Police Officer Elvis Aurelio Daguman underscored the training's significance in ensuring the preparedness and effectiveness of port security measures.

The participants gained insights into the latest security protocols and honed their skills to address emerging threats within the maritime domain.

The successful completion of the MSAT program highlights PMO-Surigao's unwavering commitment, through its Port Police Division, to upholding a secure and resilient maritime environment.

These ongoing initiatives, coupled with collaborative efforts with private security firms, are expected to significantly contribute to the overall safety and security of ports under PMO Surigao’s jurisdiction. (PPA-PMO/PIA-Surigao)
