Flood victims in Agusan Norte town receive rice assistance from civil defense office

affected families.
Diane Lim, operations officer of OCD Caraga, who led the distribution shared that “this served as additional assistance to the town as OCD was also able to deliver non-food items such as 500 hygiene kits, 300 blankets, tarp rolls, 1,000 bottles of 6-liter water, and 172 family packs to aid the community in their recovery and rehabilitation brought by the trough of the low pressure area.”

Barangay Captain Manuel Auxtero of Malicato expressed gratitude to the government for looking into their plight, where many of the residents’ sources of income were affected during the two-week flooding, stating, “We are thankful to the government for giving assistance to the 25 affected families in our barangay.”
“We thank
and commend the OCD for the prompt assistance that they extended to the
municipality of Las Nieves. With their help, along with other agencies, we are
able to provide flood-affected families with enough food and non-food items
during their displacement,” Mayor Karen Rosales of Las Nieves said.
As per
record of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC)
of Las Nieves, other barangays affected by floods include Ambaco, Lingayao,
Maningalao, Pinana-an, Rosario, San Isidro, Tinucuran, EG Montilla, Mat-I, San
Roque, Poblacion, Bonifacio, and Consorcia.
There were 3,754 families, or 14,331 individuals, affected during the recent flooding in the province. (NCLM/PIA Agusan del Norte)
