Butuan City gears up for Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair

BUTUAN
CITY (PIA) – Various government services will be available during
the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair on March 22 to 23 at the Caraga State
University main campus in Butuan City.
Speaker
Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and other cabinet officials and dignitaries are also
expected to join the event.
The
convergence is the first in the Caraga region, hosted by Butuan City and Las
Nieves Rep. Jose ‘Joboy’ S. Aquino II.
The activity will serve an array of services that will benefit thousands of residents in the region, especially in Butuan City and the province of Agusan del Norte.
Preparations
and route assessment for the event are underway, and the Armed Forces of the
Philippines, Philippine National Police, Butuan City Transportation and Traffic
Management Department, and the Bureau of Fire Protection have already conducted
their security briefing with the team of Bagong Pilipinas and the office of the
congressional representative for security during the conduct of the 2-day
event.
Services
include the Department of Migrant Workers distribution of financial assistance
to identified overseas Filipino families in distressed situations; the
Department of Foreign Affairs will bring closer to the residents who want to
apply for or renew their travel documents; and the Department of Agrarian
Reform will conduct an agrarian trade fair and turn over of farm machinery to
various agrarian reform beneficiary organizations and others.
Moreover,
the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Caraga will accept applications for the June
2 examinations of Fire Officer (FOE), Penology Officer (POE), and Basic
Competency on Local Treasury Examination (BCLTE). It will also accept walk-in
applications for special eligibility, such as PD 907 and barangay officials,
among others, and will provide assistance on civil service-related matters.
The
Commission on Higher Education (CHED) will have an information exhibit on the
scholarships and grants-in-aid programs of the Unified Student Financial
Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST); information on the
higher education institutions (HEIs) programs in the region; processing of
applications for certification, authentication and verification of students'
academic records; assistance in the online application for scholarship program
for coconut farmers and their families ; and the provision of Help Desk to
accommodate higher education questions and concerns; and distribution of
financial grants to selected HEIs, and a ceremonial awarding of financial
grants with CHED chairperson, Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III, and many more.

The
Philippine Information Agency (PIA), as the communication arm of the
government, will ensure the smooth conduct of press conferences and interviews
with the dignitaries and key officials of the different participating
agencies.
PIA will
also take care of the activities under the scope of media relations, including
the presentation and distribution of information, communication, and education
materials for priority government programs.
