town
BUTUAN CITY -- Fulfilling its commitment to bridge the digital divide in the region, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Caraga, through its Dinagat Islands office, recently concluded a three-day Digital Literacy Training to senior high school students on May 15-17 at Kayaw Building, Brgy. Poblacion, Cagdianao, Dinagat Islands.
This initiative specifically targeted learners enrolled in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) strand at Cagdianao National High School (CNHS).
The program focused on equipping students with the essential tools to navigate the digital landscape. The students gained practical skills in various Google Workspace applications like Gmail, which are crucial for communication and collaboration. They were also introduced to Canva, a popular design platform, expanding their creative potential and digital skillset.
Dr. Teresita P. Loca, CNHS secondary school principal IV, expressed gratitude to DICT - Dinagat Islands for this partnership and highlighted the program's positive impact on the students.
Talks are underway to solidify this collaboration through a formal agreement, ensuring continued access to these valuable resources for CNHS students.
By equipping them with the tools they need to thrive, DICT Caraga through its Dinagat Islands provincial office is not only investing in these students, but in the bright future of Dinagat Islands and the Philippines as a whole. (DICT-Caraga/PIA-Caraga)
