Gov’t officials forge partnership to support adolescent health in Agusan Norte’s town
TUBAY, Agusan del Norte -- In a significant step towards fostering the well-being of young people, the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) Caraga, together with the Department of Education (DepEd) in Agusan del Norte and municipal officials of Tubay, Agusan del Norte, participated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on April 12.
This MOU symbolized a collective commitment to collaboration among various stakeholders in addressing the diverse issues and concerns affecting young people in the municipality of Tubay. Through this partnership agreement, CPD - Caraga, DepEd - Agusan del Norte, other government agencies, and the provincial and municipal officials aim to establish an Information and Service Delivery Network for Adolescent Health and Development (AHD).
Alexander A. Makinano, regional director of CPD - Caraga, emphasized the importance of this partnership in creating a more supportive environment for adolescents saying, "By working together, we can ensure that young people have access to the information, services, and support they need to thrive.”
The Information and Service Delivery Network for AHD will serve as a platform for sharing resources, expertise, and best practices to better support the holistic development of young people in Tubay. It will facilitate collaborative efforts among stakeholders to address the unique challenges faced by adolescents in the municipality.
As part of the partnership, CPD - Caraga led a forum on April 12, presenting evidence-based strategies for Adolescent Health and Development to municipal and barangay officials of Tubay. The presentation, grounded in the current socio-demographic situation of young people in the municipality, provided valuable insights to guide local initiatives.
