Agusan Sur farmers
receive vegetable seeds from DA-13
AGUSAN DEL SUR -- Farmers in the different barangays of San Francisco, this province, recently received the lowland vegetables seeds in support of a sustainable vegetable project of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Caraga through the High Valued Crops Development Program (HVCDP), at the Mayor's conference hall of said municipality.
Romer Amante, the vegetable focal person, together with the Agricultural Coordinating Office (APCO) in Agusan del Sur chief June Anthony S. Ouano facilitated the delivery of lowland assorted vegetable seeds worth P350,000 to Unify Inter Barangay Farmers Association (UIBFA).
The DA Caraga is committed to empowering their local farmers and supporting their growth. Their vision is to provide the resources, tools, and funding needed to help the farmers thrive.
Amante strongly encouraged the association to apply for civil society organization (CSO) accreditation that will open the door to valuable funding opportunities that can take the operation to the next level.
Mayor Grace Carmel Paredes-Bravo expressed her strong support saying, "The local government of San Francisco launched the Kadiwa every Tuesday to support the local farmers in selling their agricultural crops, and as a result, this helps the farmers provide a stable market and better prices for their agricultural products."
