Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair reaches Surigao Sur

BISLIG CITY, Surigao del Sur (PIA) -- The Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) reached Surigao del Sur, bringing an array of government services closer to the local population in Bislig City, marking the 20th episode of the BPSF that served all 82 provinces nationwide.
The event, which commenced on June 21, at the De La Salle John Bosco College campus in Mangagoy, Bislig City, featured House Speaker Martin Romualdez as the honorary guest. The fair was co-hosted by Congressional Representative Johnny T. Pimentel of the 2nd district of Surigao del Sur and Governor Alexander Pimentel, with support from 1st district Congressional Rep. Romeo Momo Sr. and Bislig City Mayor Florencio Garay. The event saw participation from district and partylist representatives across various regions, emphasizing the government's commitment to service outreach.
Over two days, 44 national government agencies provided more than 217 services, targeting 90,000 beneficiaries. The service fair brought programs and services worth P600 million to the city, including P244 million in cash assistance. Among the key initiatives was the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) that continued its payout under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS), expected to reach over 64,000 individuals with a total of P216 million.
Additionally, the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) offered various scholarship programs, and livelihood assistance were provided to eligible clients across the province.
The event also featured the Pagkakaisa Concert at Bislig City Baywalk on the first night, with free admission and gathered the estimated 10,000 crowd, adding a festive atmosphere to the service fair. (NGPB/PIA-Surigao del Sur)
