DAR visits farmers’ coop in Placer town
SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte (PIA) -- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Surigao del Norte conducted recently an on-site visit to Mabini United Farmers Cooperative (MAUNFACO) in Placer town, province of Surigao del Norte.
The officers of MAUNFACO warmly welcomed the personnel from the DAR who visited their warehouse facility located at Barangay Mabini.
MAUNFACO just recently received a total of P7.907 million worth of post-harvest equipment from the Department of Agriculture - Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (DA-PHilMech).
A Certificate of Award was handed over to MAUNFACO for the Coco coir facility as the first recipient of the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan in the country.
The said facility will enable MAUNFACO to shift their gears from manual production of their geo-nets into a mechanized coconet enterprise.
Present during the awarding were DAR Undersecretary for Support Services Rowena NiΓ±a O. Taduran, OIC-Dir. Eric M. Arevalo of Bureau of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development, DAR Caraga Dir. Merlita S. Capinpuyan, DAR Caraga Assistant Regional Dir. Joie L. Ceballos, DAR-Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Vincent L. Ramos, PARPO I Allan N.
