PMO Surigao enhances financial mng't skills of personnel

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte -- The Port Management Office (PMO) of Surigao recently conducted a two-day finance conference held at the PPA conference hall, Surigao City. 

The two-day conference updated and strengthened the financial management skills of its officers and personnel initiated by Finance Manager Raffy M. Lafuente. 

It also focused on enhancing participants' knowledge of financial policies, systems, guidelines, procedures, rules, and regulations.  

Key resource speaker from Commission on Audit (COA) State Auditor IV Ace J. Monforte emphasized the principle of public office as a public trust and stressed the importance of accountability in government financial operations. 

The said conference covered the latest regulations and guidelines affecting financial management in public institutions, and objectives included ensuring efficient operations of the PMO and its terminal offices, promoting the effective use of government resources, and fostering a culture of transparency. 

By equipping participants with up-to-date knowledge, the conference aims to enhance compliance with established standards and protect public funds.
