112 rookie cops complete training on basic internal security operations
BUTUAN CITY -- After 45 days of training, 112 police officers, composed of 107 from the Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 and five from the National Support Unit, graduated from the Basic Internal Security Operations Course (BISOC) on August 27 at the Regional Special Training Unit (RSTU) 13, Santiago, Agusan del Norte.
Police Brigadier General Alan M. Nazarro, PRO 13 director, personally led the closing ceremony together with PCol. Dennis A. Siruno, chief of the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division (RPRMD), PLtCol. Rhandy O. Amaro, officer-in-charge of the Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division, and PLtCol. Reynante N. Sibayton, officer-in-charge of RSTU 13.
Among the highlights of the graduation ceremony was the giving of awards to the following top-performing students: Award of Excellence as Top 1: Pat. Michael Lester T Bayate; Award of Excellence as Top 2: Pat. Ceperino D Mahanlud III; Award of Excellence as Top 3: Pat. Ian Jay A Sambayon; Strong Man Award: Pat. Junel T PeΓ±as; Strong Woman Award: Meljenor T Quijas; Award of Pistol and Rifle Marksmanship Top Gun (Male Category): Pat. Michael Lester T Bayate; Award of Pistol Marksmanship Top Gun (Female Category): Pat. Aubrey Marie G Erigbuagas; Award of Rifle Marksmanship Top Gun (Female Category): Pat. Jolina M Payla; Best Team: Team 3 of Class 028 (Members: Pat. Edgar Allan U Babor, Pat. Jose M Cabili, Pat. Marjun J Gopo, Pat Lembert S De Castro, Pat. Archie J Gemao, Pat. John Bryan C Buo, Pat. Ricky G Delo and Pat. Ryan A Cayangcang); Leadership Award as Battalion President: Pat. Harvey O Alicante; and Leadership Award as Battalion Commander: Pat. John Patrick Q Martinez.
Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. (PMaj.) Lorenzo R. Ruga, regional pastoral officer 13, led the blessing of blue berets and BISOC pins followed by the ceremonial donning and pinning of the graduates by Dir. Nazarro.
“I know it was never an easy feat, and your endurance was tested daily, but you have conquered yet another milestone in your career. After this, you will be assigned to the mobile forces, and I hope that you will apply all the knowledge, values, and skills that you have acquired. A new and more challenging journey awaits you,” Nazarro said.
BISOC is a specialized training designed to enhance police officers’ counter-insurgency skills and capabilities.
The graduates were then turned-over to the RPRMD 13 for subsequent deployment to their respective unit assignments. (PRO13/PIA-Agusan del Norte)
