RTWPB-13 bares adherence to wage determination process
Butuan City – The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) Caraga headed by Board Secretary VI Earl D. Dela Victoria announced the strict adherence of the regional wage board to the guidelines on minimum wage determination, during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas town hall meeting at LMX Convention Center, Butuan City on September 17.
The RTWPB Caraga is the
governing body mandated to review the minimum wage of the region. The current
and prevailing minimum wage in Caraga is P385 pursuant to Wage Order No. 18
which took effect on January 1, 2024.
“We, in the Wage Board, assure you
that every step and decision we make is in accordance with the guidelines and
the law. We strictly adhere to the provisions stated in our omnibus guidelines,
and it is our hope that you, the media, will help us in relaying this message
to the public,” the board secretary said.
Furthermore, Dela Victoria shared
that during his Labor Day speech, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr, directed
all RTWPBs to regularly review the minimum wage of the regions within their
respective jurisdiction.
“Aside from strict adherence to the
law, the regional wage board is also guided by the directive of the President
to regularly review the minimum wage in our region. With this, board members
convene at least twice a month to discuss and review the economic situation of
Caraga,” he added.
Together with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga Assistant Regional Dir. Raymond Fel F. Sajor and Technical Services Support Division Chief Annie C. Tangpos, Dela Victoria presented the significant accomplishments of RTWPB Caraga, including its services for the betterment of the labor sector to the media practitioners during the said town hall meeting.
