DENR awards 105 land titles to residents of Lingig, Surigao Sur
LINGIG, Surigao del Sur -- In a significant move to promote land ownership and community empowerment, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Caraga, through CENRO Bislig, awarded a total of 105 land titles to residents of Barangay Pagtilaan, Lingig, Surigao del Sur on September 27.
This event according to Ebrahim Frey Jabido, forest ranger and designate information officer of DENR-CENRO Bislig, formed part of the Handog Titulo Program that is observed in the month of September of every year as mandated by DENR Memorandum Circular No. 2019-04.
The awarded titles include 100 residential patents and five special patents, benefiting both individual residents and the barangay local government unit (BLGU) of Pagtilaan of the said town.
The event was joined by the notable officials including CENRO Bislig Chief Nathaniel E. Racho, PENRO Chief Adelfo R. Luengas Jr., and Lingig Mayor Elmer P. Evangelio, alongside Punong Barangay Elmo de los Santos and DENR personnel.
The Handog Titulo Program aims to streamline the process of granting public land patents to eligible applicants nationwide. By increasing access to land titles, this initiative seeks to alleviate poverty and foster economic growth and development.
