Tandag City mayor leads distribution of educational learning tools
TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur (PIA) -- In an effort to improve the educational sector in Tandag City, Mayor Roxanne C. Pimentel spearheaded the distribution of crucial learning equipment to several public schools in the city on October 2.
The ceremony, held at the lobby of the Executive Building of Tandag City Hall, was attended by school administrators and teachers from the beneficiary institutions to receive the much-needed educational tools.
The distribution included eight television sets each for Tandag Pilot Elementary School and Tandag Central Elementary School. The San Antonio Elementary School, Quintos Elementary School, and Tandag City SPED Center respectively received seven television sets.
Elevating the learning environment
The contribution of education tools formed part of the city's broader initiative to modernize classrooms and provide better learning tools for teachers and students alike. Mayor Pimentel emphasized the city's commitment to improving the quality of education through the provision of modern learning equipment that plays a pivotal role in supporting modern teaching methods.
The distribution is expected to positively impact the students across Tandag City’s Schools Division, particularly those in public schools that often lack advanced technological resources. The television sets will be used to enhance classroom instruction by enabling teachers to incorporate multimedia presentations, digital learning modules, and other audiovisual aids that foster a more dynamic educational experience.
Supporting inclusive and specialized learning
The distribution of televisions to schools such as the Tandag City SPED Center and the Special Science Elementary School highlighted the city's dedication to promoting inclusive and specialized education. The Special Education (SPED) Center, which caters to students with special needs benefitted from the new equipment, allowing the teacher and students to use and apply customized learning materials tailored to the individual and classroom requirements.
This activity is aligned with Tandag City's long-term educational strategy that seeks to modernize public schools while fostering innovation in the classroom. The city government has also invested in other resources, such as classroom repairs, school supplies, and support for teacher training programs to bridge educational gaps and ensure that every student has the tools they need to succeed.
With further investments in the coming months, the city government of Tandag aims to continue working hand-in-hand with educators to sustain the growth and improvement of its educational sector. (NGPB, PIA-Surigao del Sur)
