DepEd-Surigao City celebrates 50 years of educational excellence
SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte --The Department of Education (DepEd) - Division of Surigao City celebrated its 50th Founding Anniversary on October 11, marking half a century of commitment to education and development in the city.
Schools Division Superintendent Marilou B. Dedumo, PhD, CESO V, led the celebration and delivered her State of the Division Address.
She highlighted the division's achievements and initiatives over the years, stressing the importance of collaboration between local government and DepEd in addressing educational challenges and advancing programs for the schools in Surigao City.
City Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II joined the celebration, along with Provincial Governor Ace Lyndon S. Barbers, Provincial Vice Governor Eddie Gokiangkee Jr., City Vice Mayor Alfonso S. Casurra, City Councilor Karl Duane Casurra, and Liga ng mga Barangay Vice President Christopher Bonite.
In his message, Mayor Dumlao underscored the significance of Surigao City advancing to the national level as a finalist in the National Literacy Awards, reflecting the city's dedication to educational innovation and excellence.
He commended the efforts of the educators, students, and the community in achieving this milestone, encouraging continued progress toward providing quality education for all Batang Surigaonons.
