DPWH completes school building in Rosario, Tandag City
Tandag City, Surigao del Sur – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Surigao del Sur 1st District Engineering Office turned over a newly completed 1-story, 2-classroom school building at Rosario Elementary School, Rosario, Tandag City on October 17.
The building was designed to accommodate 106 students, comprising 51 students from Grade 4 and 55 students from Grade 5.
The turnover ceremony, led by District Engineer Ruel B. Bantugan, was also joined by House Committee Chairperson on Public Works and Highway and 1st district of Surigao del Sur Congressional Representative Romeo S. Momo Sr., together with the provincial/ city/ barangay LGU officials and personnel from DepEd in Tandag City Division.
School officials expressed their
optimism that the new facility will significantly enhance the quality of
education and provide young learners with the space to nurture their
potential.
"Education is the key to a brighter future," School Principal
Guillermo Ramos emphasized, noting that the new classrooms symbolize hope
and commitment for the growth of the students as they continue their journey
toward academic success.
The construction of the school building began on May 28, 2024, and was completed ahead of schedule on September 24, 2024, within the 120-calendar-day contract duration. The project was funded under the regular agency fund, including full electrical and plumbing works that ensured a complete and ready-to-use facility for the students.
