DA’s Reg’l Project Advisory Board approved farm-to-market road in Surigao City
SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte -- The proposed Concreting of NRJ Trinidad-Mabini farm-to-market road, including bridges, was approved by the Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) during the meeting on November 22 at the Grand Palace Hotel, Butuan City.
The project, initiated by the city government of Surigao under the Department of Agriculture's Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP), is set for implementation next year. Funding will follow an 80-10-10 scheme, with 80 percent provided by the World Bank, 10 percent from the local government, and 10 percent from national funds.
Mayor Paul Yves L. Dumlao, together with the City Engineering Office, City Agriculture Office, and the City Planning and Development Office, presented the proposal during the deliberation.
Also in attendance were officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Agriculture (DA), National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA).
This project aims to enhance agricultural productivity by improving road and bridge access for farmers, facilitating interconnectivity among the barangays of Surigao City, and strengthening links between Surigao City and Surigao del Norte.
