Tubajon named as nat’l nominee in PCO’s Parangal

TUBAJON, Dinagat Islands -- The municipal government of Tubajon led by Mayor Fely Pedrablanca, through the Municipal Information Office headed by Jeff ‘Mamshie’ Crisostomo, was named as one of the national nominees in the Public Service Campaign Award of the Presidential Communications Office's Parangal: Gawad ng Kahusayan sa Komunikasyong Pampubliko.

For this year, the MIO of Tubajon spearheaded the creation of a new brand for the municipality of Tubajon. This included establishing a distinct visual identity across social media and beyond, as well as redesigning the official municipal seal — a historic milestone for our 55-year-old town. These efforts fostered a stronger sense of pride among both public servants and citizens, working hand in hand to advance the  progressive municipality.

The entry of the MIO of Tubajon  in the Parangal  was its initiative entitled, "TUBAJON REBRANDED (Revitalized Branding and Design for Engagement and Development). The program sought to engage the people of the municipality of Tubajon through the official social media platform (facebook.com/Tubajon.MIO) by fulfilling the following objectives:

• Apply effective design principles to capture the interest and attention of our citizens so they can actively access relevant and timely information;

• Redesign the official seal of the Municipality of Tubajon and the logos of municipal offices and councils to establish a cohesive visual brand that reflects the shared values of the Municipal Government and its constituents in the commitment to protect the environment and promote people-centered development; and

• Transform online graphics into powerful communication tools by providing essential information on government services, programs, and policies.

The PCO’s Parangal: Gawad ng Kahusayan sa Komunikasyong Pampubliko, as an annual award-giving ceremony,  recognizes and celebrates exemplary campaigns and executions of communications programs and projects pursuant to the mandates of the government agencies,  local governments units, among others.

Other national nominees for the category on Public Service Campaign Award were Lupon (Davao Oriental), San Francisco and Loreto (Agusan del Sur), Mendez Nuñez (Cavite), and Bacnotan (La Union). The municipality of Lupon was chosen as the winner and received the award on 16 December  at the PICC in Pasay City, Metro Manila. (MIO-Municipality of Tubajon/PIA-Dinagat Islands)
