RAPID Growth Project – Agusan del Sur holds firm-level consultations with Coffee MSMEs, farmers associations
AGUSAN DEL SUR -- The RAPID Growth Project - Agusan del Sur, spearheaded by Department of Trade and Industry - Officer In Charge (DTI) Provincial Director Marson Jan S. Dolendo, recently conducted firm-level discussions with Khierwen G. Francis, owner of Berachah Coffee, on Sitio San Jose, Maasin, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur.
Berachah Coffee, is currently one of the upcoming coffee brands in the province, serving coffee shops, local government units and even buyers from outside the province.
Key points being discussed were the current status of his coffee business, the challenges that the venture encountered, and his plans for the future.
Dolendo, together with Anthony Mark S. Catalonia, the Rural Agro - Enterprise Partnership for Inclusive Development and Growth (RAPID Growth) Project Value Chain Facilitator for Coffee, also laid out the possible interventions that the project could offer to help the promising Micro, small, medium Enterprise (MSME). The team also discussed the upcoming Caraga Coffee Quality Competition 2024, wherein Khierwen’s coffee beans will participate and represent the province.
Additionally, the consultation team visited the San Jose Maasin Coffee Farmers Association (SAMACOFA), where officers signed a matching grant agreement for the proposed Detailed Investment Plan for Coffee. The association also provided an update on their bank account opening, expressing confidence in completing this process soon.
